The Holbrook Report
Curiosity, taken seriously — explainers that take a subject worth understanding and follow it all the way down. I'm Aaron Holbrook, and this is my publication.
What it is
The Holbrook Report publishes explainers: each piece takes a subject worth understanding and walks its mechanics from public sources, defining every term and showing the reasoning. The aim is durable understanding of how something works, not commentary or a hot take. A report explains; it does not advise.
Who makes it
I do, and it's one person. I pick the questions, direct the research, check the figures, and edit every line. Claude Opus (Anthropic) does the drafting, which every report says up front.

These reports don't all begin in the same place, but they begin in the same head. My curiosity branches into a few other places:

How it works
A piece begins with a question I actually want answered. It gets researched against primary and contemporaneous sources, drafted by an AI model, and then directed, checked, and edited by me until the reasoning holds and the figures trace to a citation. The body stays in an impersonal, explanatory voice, because it is about the subject and not about me. When a piece needs an introduction in my own voice, I put it at the top and mark it as mine.
How claims are labeled
So a reader can see what kind of statement each sentence is, claims carry an inline label. In a field of confident, unlabeled writing, labeled confidence is the point.
On AI and disclosure
Every piece is written by an AI model and says so. I don't think the value is in who typed the words; it's in the quality of the questions, the rigor of the editing, and being straight with you about both. Each report discloses its AI authorship and any conflict of interest, labels its claims, and ends with the sources it was built from.
What this is not
Nothing here is financial, legal, or tax advice, and none of it is a recommendation to buy, sell, or do anything. It is educational writing about how things work. Where a piece touches a subject I or the tools I use have an interest in, I disclose it and hold the relevant claims to a higher bar.
